FAQ'S AND PROS/CONS
HOW LONG DOES EACH TREATMENT TAKE?
The length of each appointment depends on the amount of hair you want to remove and how many treatments you have already received. A treatment can take anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour or more. Most treatments can be completed during your lunch hour. Your first Electrolysis appointment will probably be the longest.
IS ELECTROLYSIS EXPENSIVE?
No. Electrolysis is very cost effective, when compared to other temporary hair removal methods and Electrolysis is the only permanent hair removing method, FDA Approved.
The Pros:
1. Electrolysis has the best overall results, versus any other method to remove hair permanently.
2. Many different hair and skin types can benefit. Because it doesn't target hair pigment (color) like laser, but attacks the follicle itself.
3. People that aren't good candidates for laser get electrolysis and it safely removes the GRAY hairs too.
The Cons:
1. Bent and curved follicles can make electrolysis hair removal harder. Previous waxing, tweezing or other methods can make hair follicles bent or misshapen, and getting the needle to the root makes more difficult to destroy the follicle.
2. Multiple treatments are needed. You have to be committed to electrolysis because you will need multiple sessions, which will take up a considerable amount of your time.
We utilize state-of-the-art "Apilus Electrolysis Technology," which is absolutely the most comfortable way to achieve permanent hair removal. All new clients receive a free initial consultation with sample treatment on the body area of your choice. We work together to form a complete and accurate assessment of your particular unwanted hair concerns. We respect your privacy and understand that unwanted hair issues are a very personal and private issue. All information discussed with clients is strictly kept confidence.
What Hygiene Practices Do You Follow?
Every client receives a sterile probe at every treatment – probes are never reused. Tweezers are cleaned with an ultrasonic cleaner and sterilized in a medical grade autoclave after each use. Both the probe and tweezers are sealed
until we start the treatment. I use a fresh pair of gloves for each client, as well as a new surgical mask each time.
Having An Experienced Electrologist Makes All The Difference.
We remain committed to offering a comfortable and supportive environment where clients can address any of their concerns regarding unwanted hair.
History of Electrolysis (1875)
The first person to use electrolysis for hair removal was Dr. Charles E. Michel (1833 - 1913), a St. Louis, Missouri ophthalmologist (eye doctor) who, in 1875, reported the results of his use of electrolysis in
trichiasis (ingrown eyelashes) (St. Louis Clinical Record, October, 1875, 2:145-148).
Dr. Michel had been performing electrolysis since 1869.
